I only went to Dr. Sendroff once, to get 2 wisdom teeth removed, but I had a great overall experience. The office atmosphere and staff are very calming and Dr. Sendroff is very professional. I thought the price was a little high (although I don't have much to compare to), but I would definitely recommend.

I have a history of corrupt teeth and have traveled all over in search of the perfect dentist. My search has ended with Dr. Sendroff. With no patient history at the office, Dr. Sendroff treated me just as he would his own children. I had to go for multiple visits to fix deep rooted cavities and every single visit was pain free. Dr. Sendroff and his assistant Ris took special care of me, taking their time to reassure me, and doing the BEST job possible. After the first visit, I was completely confident in this Dr. Sendroff's ability to take care of me. He is a dentist worth traveling miles for. He examined each tooth thoroughly and being the perfectionist that he is, he would not let me leave the chair until he was confident things were fixed the right way. I have put all my faith and trust in Dr. Sendroff... he better not retire soon! He saved two of my teeth from root canals, and all of the procedures were pain free. As an added plus, everyone in the office is extremely friendly and helpful. Honestly, the office feels like a family right when you walk in!

Dr. Sendroff and his staff deserve high praise for offering fantastic care and service. From the first contact I had with his office, I knew the staff was serious about providing care, not just going through the motions to collect a paycheck.

Dr. Sendroff's level of expertise is impressive and his chair-side manner puts even the most nervous patient at ease. I really appreciated how he took time to explain what he was looking at, what he was going to do and his reasoning. Mrs. Sendroff works in the front office and ensures that patients are greeted and sent off with the same high quality of care. At no time was a single detail overlooked, from the scheduling to the cleaning to the dental exam to the follow-up. Even after a glitch with my insurance, the office was willing to help sort things out. Above and beyond!

At Dr. Sendroff's office, I felt I was not just another patient or worse, just a number representing a procedure with a potential insurance payoff. I was given good advice, but was not pressured to undergo unnecessary surgery. I was treated with kindness and compassion by a very competent team. This is one terrific practice.

About Hygienist: The hygienist is also very skillful and knew how to have me laughing even while my mouth was propped open. Really great job cleaning.

He works with a patient not just a mouth, consulting on long-term strategic considerations as well as thoroughly treating immediate needs - and does so with a remarkably painless approach. While I wish I had been with him from the beginning I'll certainly be with him and his team for as long as I am in DC. His office is managed by his equally kind and professional wife, Paula. The meticulous commitment of his charming hygienist Laurie perfectly compliments and completes this practice. Quite simply, Dr Sendroff and his team offer not simply first class care but priceless peace of mind. A visit will demonstrate why he was named Dentist of the Year.

I'm in the process of moving to Seattle, WA, and Dr. Sendroff's receptionist (Paula) was very informative in helping me figure out how to locate a new dentist in Seattle. She even offered to email my records to my new dentist here in Seattle. Excellent customer service. If I'm ever back in DC, this is where I'll go.

Dr. Sendroff and his entire staff are absolutely wonderful! I have been going there for 7 years and have already hooked several friends and colleagues, all of whom agree with my assessment. Dr. Sendroff is always accessible (I left him a message once when I cracked a tooth late Saturday afternoon and he called me back immediately), courteous (it's so nice to have a doctor and staff who are pleasant, cheerful and friendly!), and does a great job keeping my smile looking its best. I recommend him without hesitation!

I have been going to see Dr. Sendroff for about 10 years, when I worked in Georgetown and long before I got married. Since then I have moved all the way out to Haymarket and now my husband and 3 older children go to see him. They are wonderful with adults as well as children and because of that my three girls look forward to going to the dentist twice a year.

They are very professional and yet one doesn't feel as though they are just another number. If you seeking personal service Dr. Sendroff and his staff are the ones to see.

Some people ask me why I drive so far to see Dr. Sendroff but I tell them when you have found a great dentist it is worth it! I highly recommend him.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I give Joel Sendroff a 10, maybe even an 11. In my earlier Washington years, I went to a relatively inexpensive but incompetent dentist, thanks to whom I lost a tooth. After that grim experience, a friend introduced me to Joel, and I have been delighted ever since with him and his office staff. I have always hated being trapped in a dentist's chair and Joel is terrific in dealing with people with anxieties like mine.

When Dr. Sendroff first treated me, I had broken a tooth and had just had hand surgery so I needed to find a dentist I could get to using public transportation. How fortunate that turned out to be! I otherwise would have gone to my regular dentist who I soon learned had not been taking good care of my teeth. Between my first and seond appointments, another tooth broke. It turned out I needed several crowns and a new bridge and was treated by Dr. Sendroff for over a year. When he finished repairing the damage that my teeth had suffered over the years, I realized that for many of those years I had endured a lot of pain I had grown to used to. Needless to say, it was a real relief to realize the pain was gone. Dr. Sendroff, Lori, Paula, and Brenda are very friendly and helpful people. I look forward to my visits just to touch base with them again and to get the carnation Paula gives to patients after their treatment.

My family has been seeing Dr. Sendroff for about 20 years. I would characterize his approach as very conservative. He looks out for his patient's best interests in their dental health while not promoting the most radical, expensive treatment. Dr. Sendroff is truly the dentist for cowards -- he goes above and beyond to minimize pain and discomfort. He has even called us later in the day after a procedure to check on pain levels. His hygenist, Lori, is excellent, thorough and a breath of fresh air. His wife Paula and assistant Brenda are always cheerful and flexible when you need a fast appointment or to make a last-minute change in an appointment. Although they are not a participating provider with any insurance carrier, they are willing to process dental insurance claims. I think their charges are often within the reasonable and customary range. Visiting their practice is like going to an old-fashioned family physician. They are very committed to the patient relationship and to giving excellent service. I would highly recommend them.

Our family first became patients of Dr. Sendroff in 1983. We could not imagine having dental care anywhere else.

The office is warm and welcoming with personalized and professional care. These combinations are rare in the fast pace lifestyle of Washington DC. It's like having a dentist and other health professionals in the big city with a small town feel.

The whole office of Dr. Sendroff is involved in your dental treatment, starting with a warm, personal welcome at reception, to a thorough cleaning and helpful cleaning tips from the hygienist, and finally to a careful and thoughtful dental plan and treatment from Dr. Sendroff. The office is extremely helpful with insurance billings and wait until they receive reimbursement before full payment is due. I rated "success" as 4, not 5 because of my teeth and their problems, not because of the quality of my treatment, which is excellent.

Our family have been patients of Dr. Sendroff for over 30 years and we believe he is,literally, unique in the service and care he provides. Dr. Sendroff offers personalized dental care at reasonable rates in a caring, supportive atmosphere. We have never been kept waiting more than 5 mins, never recieved a "sales job" for expensive procedures, never felt like just another patient being hurried through a busy professional service. Dr. Sendroff (and his staff ) genuinely care about their patients. He will call after a procedure to check up that you're doing okay and not in undue pain, suggest a specialist if he feeels they could do it better, discuss options in dental care giving sound, practical advice about cost, reliability, and necessity. We called him when we were on the west coast and needed to see specialist for possible root canal. He phoned back within minutes with name and address and phoned the specialist to ask for emergency appointment. His staff know you by name and provide a welcoming family atmosphere. Dr. Sendroff's office is friendly and efficient, and they make an effort to know their patients as individuals. Dr. Sendroff is the best dentist I've had - he is friendly, considerate, and meticulous - he is willing to spend time on things to make sure that they are just right (such as bite after filling). His advice is always good (when I don't follow it I find this out!!). My teeth are better (the hygienest keeps metrics), and I like visiting the office. Three cheers!

For most, going to a dentist is sheer terror.

( and some do drill as if they were drilling for oil.)

But not Dr. Joel Sendroff.

He is gentle.

And a true gentleman.

For me and my family , to be in his care for almost 2o years now ,has been a very pleasant experience , something that we , on occasion eagerly looked forward to.

It has even reached a certain level of friendship.

He is obviously at the peak of his profession.

Dr. Sendroff listens.

And than he responds and explains.

He gives you that gentle and reassuring tap on your shoulder while you are waiting in the chair for the next phase of your treatment .

He is always available in emergencies.

Then he follows up with not just one but several telephone calls.

Dr. Sendroff cares.

And as a result, I am told that once his latest chapter of my treatment will conclude , I will have the smile of a Gerard Philip, the l950s French hearthrob whose famous movie " Fanfan la Tulipe " recently played in town. ( Too bad if you missed it !)

Now thats what I call a dentist.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sendroff since 1973. In all of this time, I have been very satisfied with the treatment he has given me. Almost all of the reconstructive work he has carried out has lasted over 30 years. Even when I have resisted, he has insisted I take effective medication to decrease pain. Most important of all to me, he has always been available whenever I have had a dental emergency, and when he believes a required treatment is beyond the limits of his practice, he has referred me to outstanding specialists who have carried out the required procedure with ease. His staff is outstanding, especially his hygienist. They are always careful to check that I have taken my premedication before carrying out any required work. When I moved to DC two years ago I had an infected tooth that required immediate attention. Upon the advice of my son-in-law, who has been a patient of Dr. Sendroff for several years, I phoned Dr. Sendroff who agreed to see me immediately. The care I received then and since then has been outstanding. He recommended an outstanding periodontist for my tooth implant and did a superb job in fitting the crown over it. I'm also very pleased with Laurie, his excellent dental hygienist. And the office staff is the most efficient and friendly that I've ever known.

Dr. Sendroff has been my dentist for more than 25 years. I have always felt he was attuned to his patient's concerns and issues and addresses them. His follow-up and availability are far superior to others in the medical and dental field. This applies to all phases of dentistry, whether it is a check-up or something more complicated, such as a crown. Be sure to ask for Lori as your hygienist, as she is thorough, consistent and interested in any current problems. The staff is supportive, always welcoming, and runs an efficient office. This office respects your time and you as a patient. Something hard to find in other medical and dental offices. My husband left his dentist many years ago because the office was poorly managed and he never felt that anyone cared. Dr. Sendroff and his staff have changed his opinion that a dental practice can be positive.

Through the years, I have been to several dentists. Dr. Sendroff and his staff have impressed me because of their genuine nature, caring spirit, and professionalism. All procedures are explained and my overall health a priority. Lori Moltz is exceptional and the most professional hygienist I have encountered. The results are always amazing and the education and information on my teeth I find to be of great value. I travel over 30 miles to see her for my routine visits and would recommend to all at the highest level. Our family has been patients of Dr. Sendroff for perhaps 30 years. The staff are particularly pleasant and friendly, treatments are professional and effective. For health care I have never experienced a better group. One example that stands out in my mind occurred when my son was accidentally butted in the mouth by an opponenet during a high school soccer match. One of his front teeth was "hanging by a thread." The accident occurred on a Friday night but Dr. Sendroff was called at home and met my son in his office. He saved the tooth and my son, some 20 years later, still has the tooth to go along with a bright smile. Over the years Dr. Sendroff and his staff have become freinds in many ways. Ask for Lori when you need a cleaning and never leave without the obligatory flower.

Ive been a patient of Joels for more than twenty years and find that its almost fun going to the dentist when the dentist is Joel. As an architect, Im greatly influenced by my surroundings so sitting in Joels dental chair looking out at the trees and old apartment buildings on Connecticut Avenue no matter the season put me at ease. I live in the city and all my doctors are in the city. Weather permiting, I bike to Joels office. The sad part is, I wonder what in the world Ill do when he finally retires. A Big CIty Dentist with a Small Town Feel. Dr Joel Sendroff and his staff provide what many of us from smaller towns are looking for; caring, personal and attentive service, but with all of the modern dentistry techniques and equipment available in a large metropolitan area. I have been Dr. Sendroff's patient for approximately three years, and I feel like he has been my family dentist for life. For many, visiting the dentist is an unwelcome and even dreaded necessity. However, visiting Joel's office is as pleasurable experience as one could ever hope for in medical care. It is evident that Dr. Sendroff cares deeply about his patient's well being, and that fact is continually reinforced throughout each visit. If he isn't completely satisified with the work he has done, whether it be cosmetic or otherwise, he will always take the time to make things perfect. Dr. Sendroff has been my dentist for more than 20 years and he is the best dentist I ever had. I'm now 52; as a child I had many cavities, and for the past 15 years my old fillings have been wearing out, requiring replacement fillings, some crowns and the occasional root canal. Here is what I most like about Dr. Sendroff and his office: 1) He explains everything he is going to do and why, and always answers all my questions so I understand exactly what's happening. Sometmes there are two viable treatment options, and Dr. Sendroff gives me the information we need to decide. 2) I am very sensitive to pain, and Dr. Sendroff is unsurpassed in my experience at keeping the pain to a minumum. 3) Even though he always gives me all the time I need (and I'm sure he treats all his patients like this!) he is somehow almost always on time. 4) His office assistants submit the charges for me to the insurance company - a huge plus! 5) He is available on the weekends for emergencies. 6) His treatments are almost always successful.

My wife now also goes to Dr. Sendroff, and is very happy there. After our 8 year old son's pediatric dentist failed us on the weekends, we switched him to Dr. Sendroff as well - we should have done this long ago. J.Nash

Dr Sendroff has been my dentist for 11 years, and my husbands for over 20 years. I have had no shortage of dental problems, and Dr. Sendroff's expertise and caring approach has made a big difference for me. He is a very soft-spoken person, very gentle; what is so impressive is that he combines this with technical skill and superb judgment that is based on decades of experience.

He will call us at home in case one of us has any major procedure to check how we are doing. He also has made us comfortable about reaching him after office hours if a problem arises, which we did on more than one occasion.

Our whole family--husband, wife and two daughters--has been going to Dr. Sendroff for fifteen years and have received excellent dental care from him and his staff. Somehow he manages to fill a tooth almost painlessly as both daughters can attest. I and my family have been loyal patients of Dr. Sendroff for almost 20 years. I continue to see him even though he is not part of my dental plan network--the additional out-of-pocket cost is well worth it to get such high quality, personalized care! We LOVE going to see Dr. Sendroff--in fact, when one of my kids finds out that I went to see Dr. Sendroff and his staff without taking him or her, they get mad at me: "why didn't you take us with you, Mom?" Lori, the hygienist and all the dental assistants are fantastic, too. I am so grateful that I have this practice to go to.

Dr. Sendroff and staff offer the very best in dental carewithin the Washington Metropolatin area. They are without a doubt the most attentive denal facility I have visited. I have referred Dr. Sendroff to family and friends and all have come away with a smile. I have been a patient of Dr. Sendroff for a little over four years and have often left his office feeling more relaxed than upon arrival. Dr. Sendroff is a wonderful dentist. He's highly skilled and takes sufficient time to do a procedure properly. Following an appointment, he will often phone you to check to see if you are feeling any pain and whether the procedure was performed successfully. He has an excellent chair-side manner, always making his patients feel comfortable. He also takes the trouble to explain what he is doing and why, which also acts to allay patient anxiety. His secretary is more than accommodating to find appointment dates and times that are convenient. Dr. Sendroff also has an excellent hygienist who does a thorough and careful cleaning.

Dr. Joel Sendroff is a rare find in the medical profession. He is both competent and caring. He, along with his staff, create a wonderful atmoshpere. I am at ease from the moment I walk into his office and have complete confidence in his ability. I have needed several procedures over the years including filling replacements and a crown and Dr. Sendroff always makes sure that I understand exactly what is happening and that I am comfortable at all times. Thanks to Dr. Sendroff I have excellent oral health and my husband says my smile lights up a room.

I've been a patient of Dr. Sendroff's for over 20 years. He has the unusual combination of two traits that often don't exist together in the medical profession - skill and a wonderful personality. Dr. Sendroff is exceedingly careful and thoughtful in both his work and with his relationships with his patients. I have complete trust in his judgment and always appreciate how thoroughly he explains the options I may have in any treatment I need. Dr. Sendroff is also very available in the case of a dental emergency. When my son recently broke off part of his front tooth in an accident, we couldn't have asked for more thorough or better care for him than what he received from Dr. Sendroff. I have been Dr. Sendroff's patient for over a year now. He and his staff are wonderful! He's very professional as a dentist and very caring as a person. This year I brought my husband to his office and he said that he is not going anywhere else. Although does not participate with our insurance, we're ready to pay higher copays to receive his care.
