Patient Review 1:

Dr. Skordalakis made dental care for my children so much easier. Previous our six years with Dr. S. my children had horrible experiences with the dentist. My previous dentist stated that my daughter had behavorial issues and that my youngest would have to have anethisia to have a tooth removed!

I went to Dr. S. on a referral and he was able to remove my son's tooth with local anethesia and removed the tooth within 20 minutes.! As for my daughter she has now outgrown Dr. S.

She was disappointed when she found out she was to old to see Dr. S. anymore. But that is okay because he also shares an office with Dr. Papageriou which I use as my dentist.

Needless to say my children have developed a great dental maintenance care due to Dr. S. Now it is time for my granddaughter to start her program.

I would highly (100%) have faith in Dr. Skordalakis dentistry.

Both Dr. S. and his staff took care of both of my daughters even when they got a little stressed out. They have positive and relaxing attitude and really do make the children feel calm.

There will never be enough words to express my appreciation for Dr. S. (as my kids like to call him) and his staff. I just took my 3 year old in today for his first cleaning and he already loves Dr. S. just as much as his 7 year old brother does!!

Dr. S. has an amazingly calm, gentle spirit about him that makes the dental experience extremely comfortable for my boys (the playroom, VERY cute decor, TVs above every chair, goodie bags and prize tokens help too!!) You can honestly tell that Dr. S. has a sincere love for kids and it is apparent in every thoughtful detail.

We started seeing Dr. S. when we lived in Leesburg, VA (which is only a short distance away) and then we moved to the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. We make the 1 hour drive twice a year to Sterling because my son LOVES Dr. S. so much!! He had two oral surgies to remove an excess tooth, but because Dr. S. really took his time to let my son know that he was going to take care of him and that everything was going to be okay, my son still gets excited about going to the dentist!! THAT is priceless and why my kids will continue to see Dr. S!!

We took are daughter to see Dr. S today for a pain she has been having in her tooth. All I have to say is I am so glad we are leaving are old dentist for him. He is awesome!! He is great with kids and with parents! He is definitely not one of those doctors who is all about making money. He gives you is honest opinion and explains everything clearly. I would recommend his practice to everyone!

Dr. Skordalakis is primarily a gentleman, then a dentist. He represents the highest possible principle in children's dental care. He always places children's interest over that of his own. One such example is when my son was squirming and whining over the fear of a crowning job, he quietly summoned me aside and explained why he think the procedure should be halted for that day. And that was his first appointment for that day; three nurses and he himself had spent at least half an hour to prepare for the procedure!

When children step into his state-of -the-art clinic, they are immediately enthralled by the zoo-like surroundings, which is both relieving and disarming to kids who might otherwise loath and fear going to the dentist. The staff is very warm and efficient--they never make you wait for too long and they always make a reminder call you before an appointment.

We switched to Dr. Skordalakis five years ago from a very rude pediatric dentist who frowned at an accidental omit by my child during a procedure, and we have never looked at any other pediatric dentist since. We love Dr. S and will remain with him for as long as the children stay children!

Our first visit was when my daughter had injured her tooth and was running a fever from it. They were actually able to see us the same day. Given the fact that we drive almost 2 ours to see him he fixed her up the same day. When my son needed a baby root canal he did it with no pain or pain meds .... and was done in like 10 mintes. We just adore him and his staff and is well worth the drive. Now that my oldest is 15 she is dreading having to see an adult dentist but his partner is equally top notch.

I forgot to schedule dental appointments and my dentist was full for December. I decided to try Dr. Skordalakis for dental cleaning of my three sons ages 7, 10 and 12. We went in on 12/31/08 and all three of my sons were seen.

Office staff was pleasant and friendly. It was a very kid friendly office with each room colorfully painted with cartoons. They have televisions on the ceiling so the kids can watch while getting their teeth cleaned. The dental hygenist were attentive and responsible.

Dr. Skordalakis was great with my sons and took the time to ask questions and was genuinely interested in not only helping them with their teeth but in their lives. My boys were connecting with him and I could see they knew he cared. He helped me to figure out at what point we should consider getting a consultation for braces. After we left we got in the car and they all said "We want to go back, Mom!" Needless to say we have scheduled our next cleaning appointments in six months. We have found our Dentist indeed!

My 3-year old son went to this dentist for his first dentist visit. Dr and staff were very friendly and gentle. My son enjoyed watching a movie during the cleaning. Overall experience was great. My son was excited for the next visit.

One word to describe Dr. Skordalakis and his practice: "FANTASTIC"

Dr. Skordalakis has both my boys' "wrapped around his little finger". I don't think there is another pediatric dentist in this area with such an incredible mannerism toward children. My first encounter with Dr. Skordalakis was when my oldest was 18 months old and he chipped a tooth on a church pew. Since then, I have sworn by this practice. And, when my youngest fell face down, breaking both top front teeth at the age of 15 months (2 days before Thanksgiving), Dr. Skordalakis was there......above and beyond the call of duty. He called me at 8PM to go over what had happened and we were seen the very next morning at 8AM - - once we were clear that no nerve damage was present!. Dr. Skordalakis will forever be recommended by me to any parent. He treats his patients as if they were his own children....with love, caring, understanding and comfort!

My only problem now is that my insurance is no longer affiliated with Dr. Skordalakis' practice. Thus, we went to another "recommended" practice. It was fine, but, "No Comparison." Hopefully, we will be back with Dr. Skordalakis soon.

Dr. Skordalakis has a wonderful practice. I have been bringing my children to him for 7 years. Dr. S is an expert childrens dentistry. He explains everything, has an excellent chair side manner, is very caring and considerate of the fears of the child! He has help both of my kids overcome their fear and dread of Dentists. Now my 16 year old refuses to see anyone else. When we first found Dr. S the kids had alot of problems with their teeth and hated dentists. They look at Dr. S as part of our family!

I highly recommed Mr Skordalakis DDS. His facility and employees are excellent. His dental assistants are properly trained to work with children and ease their anxiety. He is a wonderful dentist, easy to work with and patient. I have take my children to other dentists and their facilities and their patience with children were no where near as good as Dr. Skordalakis.

My daughter loves going to this dentist. The office is nice and clean, the receptionists are lovely. They have a kids play area and when the kids are in the chair, they can watch a movie on the flat screen on the ceiling-definate plus. Dr. Skordalakis is very nice and has a pleasant demeanor, his assistants are very friendly and helpful. I wish all of my daughter's doctors were like this.

I would highly recommend Dr. S and his wonderful staff to any parent.

My daughter had her 6 year molars in at age 4 and as a result, a cavity developed in one of those permanent molars. We were referred to Dr. S by our family dentist and were more than impressed by his ability to calm both parent and child during a difficult procedure.

I had the pleasure of talking to his staff while waiting for my daughter to be examined and I smiled when they told me how much they enjoyed working where they work and who they work for. They looked happy.

Who is happy to work anymore? The answer to this question is clear when you visit Dr. S's practice. I am not sure how he does it, but he, his staff, his kids and their parents come out smiling.

Which I think, is all the advertisement you need if you are a dentist:)

Absolutely the best! Not only is he a skilled and good dentist - he absolutely adores children and they love him. My children (4 of them) love to go to their dentist. My 16 year old is now old enough to go to an adult dentist but refuses to leave Dr. S. He is like family and we are fortunate to have found him when we moved up here from Atlanta in 2004. In addition, his staff is courteous and down right friendly.

I took my three year old to Dr. Skordalakis for fillings and a crown. She had to have general anesthesia with a colleague of his and I was very pleased with how smoothly it went. He was very considerate and addressed our concerns about the procedure at length.

She likes his office a lot with the playroom waiting room and the TVs on the ceiling were a great distraction. We will be continuing to see him in the future.

For the short time that we lived in Sterling, Virginia - Dr. Skordalakis and his staff were one of the many pleasantries of the area. We really appreciated his "bed-side manner" with the children and how his whole practice was geared toward making the visit to the dentist a good experience. I cannot speak on the costs because our insurance covered all expenses. Our only regret is that upon our return to California - we could not take him with us! He is truly a gem of a dentist :-)
