I was referred to Dr. Stanard by my dentist approximately 12-15 years ago for a deep root cleaning. He discovered I had severe bone loss and presented the opportunity to regenerate bone through a new dental procedure. I am happy to report that Dr. Stanard's technique and skill produced excellent results. This year (2009) I came back for the same procedure in four separate locations and he is just as enthusiastic about the procedure as he was when he first performed it. During surgery #3, I listened to him educate a substitute dental technician about the procedure and associated instruments and materials. He genuinely seems to enjoy his profession and treating patients. He has a great sense of humor and is abreast of restaurants, bars, live performances and DC-related events. As others have noted, he patiently explains the procedure and responds to questions. He administers the anesthesiolgy painlessly and prescribes just the right level of pain medication post-surgery. Dr. Stanard's staff is proficient and courtesous. His DC office is located near the Dupont Circle Metro station; he plays cool music over the intercom and the reading material in the lobby is intelligent and trendy. I expect to grow old with him!!!

Dr. Stanard is an excellent periodontist. He is warm and friendly, but more than that he is very thorough and knowledgeable. He calls after surgery and follows up on doing everything he says he will do. Also, his office staff is very friendly and professional.
