When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

A consult with an endodontist would be the first step to see if retreatment is a good or predictable option. Our Pts have had good results with Dr. Palmieri in Virginia and Drs. Zia and Farshey in Chevy Chase. They can discuss cost and prognosis in more detail after seeing the case.Good luck
I''''''''m sorry to hear about your root canal problems. The only way to tell which options you have available is to have an x-ray taken and give the dentist or endodontist the best history you can remember. If non-surgical treatment is an option, that is usually the least painful and least expensive alternative (although still expensive at over $1500 in this area.) If that''''''''s not an option, a surgical treatment called apicoectomy can be done. Finally, if the tooth can''''''''t be saved, you may have to consider extraction and implant. I would recommend you consult with your general dentist first; if you don''''''''t have one, proceed directly to an endodontist.
I am sorry that you are in pain. RCT can go bad and give pain. The decision you have to make is do you want to keep your teeth or not.If the answer is YES, then you need to go to an endodontist and it will cost about $1550 and another $1500 to restore it.If the answer is NO, then you need to extracte the tooth and have implant put in. The surgery and crown will run $3000 to $4000, and extraction $250 to $400.Some general dentist can do all of the above and some can not. Find some one you feel good going to and go for the treatment. If you want an office that can take your case start to finish, if you decide to extract. Feel free to call my office (703) 279-3400.Good Luck.Dr. Choe
