I was wondering if it is safe to have an implant procedure done at university of Maryland dental school!? Performed by candidate student under professor super vision? Any one with advise ? Thanks Naz

The dental school does not do single procedures. So if you are looking for comprehensive dental treatment, the dental school is perfectly safe, it will just take a long time and 10s of trips to Baltimore. Gas prices have gone up...By the time you pay for gas and time off work, it will be a big loser. If you are retired and have nothing but time and do not mind being a learning subject at the school, it is a nice gesture and your dental students will appreciate it.

I teach part-time at the post-graduate AEGD and it is very safe to get treatment at the dental school. All treatments are under supervision by periodontist or oral surgeon. The implants and crowns can be done in few visits. Good luck with your treatment.Dr. Mark C Choe.
