Case Description
I'm a 36yo WM and on the Monday before Thanksgiving I somehow broke my front upper left tooth. Approximately 2/3 of the tooth is still there. I don't have the piece that broke off because it came off in a couple small slivers. Obviously, getting this front tooth repaired for cosmetic reasons is my first priority, but I'm also going to need a consultation for several other broken/missing teeth (I think caused by my wisdom teeth coming in since it happened all in a few years time period) that I suspect will need to replaced with dental implants. I live in Washington, DC, and need to have work done either in the district or within walking distance of a Metro stop.

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
  • Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
  • Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description, special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
  • Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
  • Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors. Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

It is almost impossible to know what you will need, without an examination and radiographs. In addition, it sounds like there may be more things to consider than just the anterior tooth. Best thing I could suggest is to make an appointment for an examination, 202.785.0555, we can discuss what you want, and at that point we can give you an estimate. Otherwise, it would just be a wild guess. Hope you had a good holiday, hope to meet you soon, Scott

Wow, I''''m sorry to hear this. I hope you managed to enjoy your Thanksgiving anyway!

Of course this is your primary focus, and it''''s actually a very good thing that so much natural tooth structure is left in tact. Being a front tooth, it is important to consider not only the skill and training of the doctor, but the quality of the lab that they use as well. Regarding both this and replacing your other broken or missing teeth, you''''ll see, if you visit the smile gallery on our website, that we do this type of work exceptionally well.

Additionally, should you call us for a consultation, I''''d like to have a discussion about how you lost those teeth or how they broke. You are relatively young for such a situation, and I''''d want to make sure that we address the underlying cause of the breakages so that whatever work we do for you will last the longest time possible.

Best wishes and I''''ll hope to hear from you!
