When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
  • Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
  • Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description, special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
  • Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
  • Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors. Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Since you are not a patient, we will need to do an exam and take at least an x-ray of the teeth you want treated. At this point, we will be able to make a diagnosis and arrive at a cost estimate. If you have cavities, you will at least need fillings. Keep in mind, teeth with deep cavities, may need more extensive treatment. You could need a crown or a root canal and crown. A dentist can never be sure until he removes all the decay/infection. Hope this helps.

Cost Estimate: $185-250
Hello,

I am replying to your inquiry regarding the cavities that you have and the need for filling.

First of all it is very important to fill the cavities as if they progress you might end up with root canal or even tooth loss may happen.

Secondly the fillings have different surfaces and sizes, therefore the fee for each could vary from $185 to $250. In my practive I do my best to conserve as much tooth structure as possible by being as conservative as rational. Also the filling material used is Composite that is white filling that is adhered to tooth structure. I do my best to give the best of the treatment to my patients.

Please call me at (301) 986-0025 ASAP to be seen immediately.

Cost Estimate: $$200-$1500
Hi,

How long the process takes depends on the type of fillings you need. A simple small cavity can be completed with a laser and no anesthetic in as little as 5 minutes and would cost around $200. A larger cavity may require numbing, which adds another 5-10 minutes to the procedure. As the other dentists noted, a very large cavity may require more extensive treatment usch as an onlay or crown, which can take and hour or two to complete, and sometimes even requires a second visit to finish. The cost for a crown is around $1500, including rebuilding the missing parts of the tooth.

One thing is for sure: cavities rarely get smaller over time, so the longer you wait, the more it will cost.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael Rogers
