Case Description
I am a student who just moved from California to D.C. I saw a dentist before I came to D.C and he suggested that I get a Root canal and a new crown for my molar tooth. I would like to know the estimated cost for root canal and new crown. I do not have dental insurance. Any information will be appreciated

Hi,As a former Californian myself, I can tell you dentistry is much more expensive here than there. The cost depends on how many roots your tooth has....your post suggests tooth #5, which is a bicuspid with two roots. The approximate cost of a root canal on that tooth ranges from $750-$1000, and the crown to support the tooth after the root canal should be around $1500. First of all Welcome to DC :-)Thank you for contacting us regarding the tooth in need for RCT and Crown. You have mentioned that the tooth in need for Root canal is a Molar, then you noted that the tooth # is 5 that is a premolar. Anyways, a fair fee for a high quality root canal could be $1200.00 and more based on premolar or molar with multiple roots.
