Need Dentist / Specialist: Yes
Provide Cost Estimate: Yes
X-rays Available: No
Case Summary
Exam & Consultation Filling
Teeth: 23,24,25
Last Full Mouth X-Ray: 3 years?
Last Cleaning: 2 years
Case Description
One of my front teeth, well I guess I should say between 2 of my front teeth, had a filling that doesnt seem to have been filled correctly, looks like there is still a little discoloration. It feels like the filling may have even partially fallen out. There are 3 teeth in a row that look like they need help. Are these teeth too small for root canal? I have fillings in some of them but I am worried there may not be enough room for fillings. what are the options for these small teeth? I know there is some decay, looking for what sort of options I may have. thanks

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
  • Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
  • Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description, special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
  • Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
  • Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors. Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Cost Estimate: $300-2000 per tooth
Hello,

The best option for you is to treat the problem areas conservatively before root canals are needed. The options are re-filling the teeth if there is still enough tooth structure remaining, putting porcelain veneers on the teeth if the teeth are weak and discolored, and finally putting crowns over the teeth to reinforce them.

These options range from about $300 per tooth up to $2000 per tooth, depending on what you and your dentist decide upon. If root canals are needed, then your best option is the full crowns because the teeth may become brittle after the root canals are finished.

Best of luck.

If lower front teeth require root canal treatment, we sometimes restore them w/ just a filling instead of the customary crown on a root canal-treated tooth. The options are the same as for any other tooth, which is either place a filling or make a crown for any teeth w/ decay. The final decision is up to you and your dentist after reviewing each case individually. There is no "one size fits all" answer for every case.

Good luck

These are the smallest teeth, but generally if need be, root canal treatment can be accomplished. As far as the fillings, difficult to say what might be needed without an exam. After an exam with xrays it can be determined what treatment is needed and the cost. Good luck
